ACG 905 Config
Sometime in the summer of 2010, I signed up for the Comcast Xfinity package,
which includes TV, Internet, and telephone. A very good deal, I thought.
In the course of work, I found I had to get into the admin section of
the ACG 905 (I needed to enable incoming pings). That meant finding out the
web address of the admin page; and having the username and password for
the page.
Comcast support was absolutely no help at all. No wonder: they don't want
customers wandering around inside those modems. I
almost got a
support person to give me the info, but she backed out at the last second.
I finally found out what I needed to know; it worked for my modem:
Now you can poke around and change stuff as you need to.
eMTA
The eMTA section of the of the config
html pages in the modem asks for a more authentication:
