ACG 905 Config

Sometime in the summer of 2010, I signed up for the Comcast Xfinity package, which includes TV, Internet, and telephone. A very good deal, I thought. In the course of work, I found I had to get into the admin section of the ACG 905 (I needed to enable incoming pings). That meant finding out the web address of the admin page; and having the username and password for the page.

Comcast support was absolutely no help at all. No wonder: they don't want customers wandering around inside those modems. I almost got a support person to give me the info, but she backed out at the last second.

I finally found out what I needed to know; it worked for my modem:

modem web address    http://192.168.100.1:8080/index.html
username     no username, leave it blank
password     admin

Now you can poke around and change stuff as you need to.

eMTA

The eMTA section of the of the config html pages in the modem asks for a more authentication:

username     no username, leave it blank
password     Thomson
